Since its launch in December 2022, the Top Talent Pass Scheme (TTPS) has attracted a significant number of professionals to Hong Kong. Now, with the first wave of applicants due for renewal, the Immigration Department has introduced key updates to the scheme. In this blog, Talent Fields outlines the latest changes, renewal requirements, common challenges, and how we support a seamless visa renewal for TTPS holders.

TTPS Renewal Requirements

To renew your Top Talent Pass visa, you must:

  1. Show Proof of Employment or Business Engagement
You must be employed, running a business, or actively contributing to Hong Kong’s economy.
  2. Be in Good Standing
No violations of local laws or immigration regulations.
  3. Maintain Eligibility
Ensure documentation remains consistent with your original application category (Category A, B, or C).
  4. Submit in the Right Timeframe
Apply within 3 months before your visa expiry date to avoid disruption.

Common Challenges TTPS Holders May Face

While the renewal process is generally straightforward, applicants often encounter several issues:

  • Lack of Proper Employment Proof – Freelancers or business owners may struggle to present clear, acceptable documentation.

  • Uncertainty About Document Requirements – The immigration department may update criteria, causing confusion.

  • Tight Timelines – Processing delays or last-minute applications can result in stress or visa gaps.

  • Business Registration Questions – Entrepreneurs may need help proving their business is active and legitimate.
